Melissa McRae
OWNER/OPERATOR
Melissa was born and raised on a fourth generation purebred cattle operation in south-west Manitoba. Melissa’s love for livestock started at a young age being heavily involved in showing and marketing cattle.
Photography soon became a passion, receiving a certificate in photography in high school. This lead to the path of taking a diploma in Communication Arts majoring in Advertising and Public Relations.
After working in the livestock marketing industry Melissa found her way back to Manitoba to launch Prairie Pistol Designs in 2013. Since then we have been striving to provide a professional and creative way to help you and your operation tell your story.
Laura Horner
PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEO PRODUCTION
Laura comes from a purebred Simmental and commercial cow herd south of Minnedosa, Manitoba. They calve 500 head along with crop acres. Annually Laura and Jake market purebred females, commercial bred heifers, and are part of an online bull sale.
Laura’s favourite part about the purebred industry is the marketing of elite genetics. Laura is passionate about livestock photography and is super excited to be part of the Prairie Pistol team and is here to help you market your genetics!
Amy Scott

Amy is the girl behind the scenes, she is the main photo and video editor at Prairie Pistol Designs. Amy has a diploma in photography and although she never grew up on a farm, she has a love for all animals.
